Special Grippers

Special grippers are used in applications where it is not possible to generate a vacuum with suction pads. They act as the connecting element between the machine and the workpiece to be handled. Depending on the application, various special grippers are thus used.

A basic distinction is made between the following type of special grippers:

• Floating suction pads
• Magnetic grippers
• Needle grippers
• Solar-cell wafer grippers

Floating suction pads
Floating suction pads SBS • Diameter: 20 to 60 mm • Holding force: 1.5 to 7.5 N	Floating suction pad for low-contact handling of paper, film, wood veneer, printed circuit boards, wafers, etc.
Magnetic grippers
Magnetic grippers SGM • Diameter: 20 to 80 mm • Holding force: 8 to 250 N	Magnetic gripper for the handling of steel sheets with holes and apertures.
Needle grippers
Needle grippers SNG-M • Needle diameter 0.8 mm • Number of needelsl: 4 • Needle stroke: 3.0 mm	Needle gripper for materials which are difficult to handle with vacuum, such as textiles, foam materials, etc., particularly compact version.
Needle grippers SNG-YV • Needle diameter: 0.8 / 1.2 / 2.0 mm • Number of needles: 12 • Needle stroke: 0 to 3.5 mm (variable)	Needle gripper for materials which are difficult to grip with vacuum, such as textiles, felt, etc.
Needle grippers SNG-D / DV • Needle diameter: 0.8 / 1.2 / 2.0 mm • Number of needles: 24 • Needle stroke (D): 7.0 mm • Needle stroke (DV): 0 to 7.0 mm (variable)	Needle gripper for materials which are difficult to handle with vacuum, such textiles, insulating mats, etc.
Needle grippers SNG-DL • Needle diameter: 1.2 / 2.0 mm • Number of needles: 24 • Needle stroke: 17,5 mm	Needle gripper for materials which are difficult to grip with vacuum, such as textiles, carpets, etc., particularly large version.
Needle grippers SNG-R / RV • Needle diameter: 1.2 mm • Number of needles: 16 • Needle stroke (R): 4.5 mm • Needle stroke (RV): 0 to 4.5 mm (variable)	Needle gripper for materials which are difficult to grip with vacuum, such as textiles, metal foam, etc., round version.
Solar cell wafer grippers
Wafer grippers SWG • Sizes 115x115 mm & 146x146 mm • Material options: PEEK, POM, PMMA • With Blow-off function	Wafer gripper for handling light but brittle solar cell wafers fast and without damage. Designed to fit on high-speed tri-axis or quad-axis picking robots.
